MIDNIGHT MADNESS
“To Give Anything Less Than Your Best

Is To Sacrifice the Gift You’ve Been Given”

To all Sacred Heart Parents, Alumni, Former Players, Faculty, Family and Friends,

Hello to all!  It’s almost Thanksgiving again which means it’s almost time for the 11th annual Midnight Madness basketball celebration to be held at the Sacred Heart High School gym!  Our team motto this year is one of my favorite quotes.  ““To Give Anything Less Than Your Best Is to Sacrifice the Gift You’ve Been Given”.  After showcasing their talents a year ago all the way to a state championship, the Knights are again bracing for another great year.

It starts Saturday night, Nov 25th (Saturday after Thanksgiving) at 6pm in the SHHS gym where we will introduce this year’s players by spotlight, then after a series of warm-ups, we’ll first scrimmage the alumni, followed by an intrasquad scrimmage of this year’s Knights.  At intermission, the younger kids will be able to shoot FTs or 3-pt shots for 2-liter bottles of pop.  In addition, we will have tickets available for a raffle to see who will win the KU and KSU basketball tickets that were donated.  The raffle tickets will cost $5 for 6 tickets, and will be available at the door or throughout the gym during the scrimmage.  The fundraisers will help offset costs for practice gear.  Once the scrimmages are over, the basketball players will proceed into the stands and introduce themselves to all of you.  At that time, we will announce the winner of the tickets.

Last year was such a great experience for the team, the school and for all of those who follow the Knights.  After losing our first game, we were able to win 25 straight games, culminating that with a State Championship win over St. John!  With the most difficult schedule that we’ve had since I’ve been here, it will be a challenge, but we expect nothing less than a trip back to Bramlage and another state tournament.  So come out and join us!  Bring your family and your relatives who might be visiting for the Thanksgiving break, and come join the Sacred Heart Knight family for a Knight to remember!

Sincerely,  Pat Martin  Head Boys Basketball Coach      Sacred Heart High School

*The donors for the basketball tickets have season tickets.  The game that the winner attends will be determined by the donors and will be given to the lucky winners after the drawing.
