Scholarship Opportunities

*Juniors can now have one college visit the second semester without it going against their attendance.  All college visits must be approved in advance by the school counselor.

 The 2018 QuestBride National Match is now open for students to apply. The deadline for the application is Sept. 27, 2018. This is for seniors who have excelled in school despite facing financial difficulties. If any student is interested please come see the counselor.  

The Horatio Alger scholarship is available to seniors who have a 2.0 GPA and require financial assistance to attend college. To learn more and apply, visit https://application.horatioalger.org. Deadline for the application is October 25, 2018. If you have any questions contact the counseling office.

KWU is offering a $20,000 renewable for 4 years scholarship to seniors who are going into the Education Field. Students interested need to be at KWU on Nov. 1st for the Teacher Education Day. Students will be required to fill out an application and complete an interview that day and the scholarship will be announced that day. If you have any questions contact the counselor.

 Announcing the Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship. Applications are to be completed on line at enf.elks.org/mvs. Deadline for the application is November 15th, 2018. After entries are completed on line send a hard copy to Salina Elks Lodge #718, Scholarship Chairman Mary A. Tanking, 117 North Presley Drive, Salina, Ks 67401-1630. If you have question you can call Mary at 825-1960 or see the school counselor.

Salina Noon Rotary Club has allocated $7000 to award scholarships to graduating seniors in 2019. Criteria includes a 3.0 GPA, financial need,and someone who demonstrates leadership. The scholarship may be renewed on a year to year basis for total of 4 years at the discretion of the Salina Rotary Club. The application is available in the counseling office with a deadline of March 1, 2019. The application when completed is to be mailed to Salina Rotary Club, P.O. Box 3392, Salina, Ks. 67402-3392.
 The Wendy's Heisman Scholarship is available for any senior who is involved in school sports programs. Apply at Wendysheisman.com.  Any questions contact the counseling office.
